-
What is Lucem Wallet?Lucem is a non-custodial, browser-based wallet extension designed for the Cardano blockchain. It allows users to securely manage digital assets, delegate ADA, connect with decentralized applications (DApps), and more.
-
Is Lucem compatible with other Cardano wallets?Lucem is fully compatible with Lace Wallet and offers limited compatibility with others. Due to its single-address system, Lucem may not reflect all assets from imported wallets. For the best experience, we recommend creating a new wallet with Lucem.
-
Is there a cost to using Lucem?Lucem is free to download and use. However, transactions and third-party services may incur network fees.
-
Can I import multiple wallets into Lucem?Lucem supports importing one recovery phrase and pairing multiple hardware wallets, such as Ledger. Each hardware wallet can manage multiple independent accounts for added privacy and flexibility.
-
Can I stake or delegate ADA using Lucem?Yes, Lucem allows you to delegate ADA to any Cardano stake pool directly from the wallet, enabling you to earn rewards while supporting the network.
-
What is collateral, and why is it needed?Collateral is a small amount of ADA required for certain smart contract transactions on Cardano. It’s used to cover resources if the contract execution fails. Lucem limits collateral to five ADA to minimize risk and prevent network spamming.
-
What is my private key?Your private key is a unique sequence of characters that proves ownership of your digital assets. It must be kept private and secure, as it grants full access to your wallet and funds.
-
What is a recovery phrase?A recovery phrase, also known as a seed phrase, is a 24-word sequence generated when you create your wallet. It’s used to recover your wallet and access your assets. Store it securely offline and never share it. If you’re recovering from another platform, you may encounter a 12- or 15-word recovery phrase.
-
What happens if I forget my wallet password? You can recover access to your wallet using your recovery phrase. This is why it’s crucial to store your recovery phrase securely offline.
-
What happens if I lose my recovery phrase? If you lose your recovery phrase, you lose access to your wallet and assets. Neither Lucem nor any affiliated parties can restore it. Store your recovery phrase in a safe and secure location to prevent loss.
-
How do I add ADA to Lucem? You can add ADA by purchasing it from a cryptocurrency exchange and sending it to your Lucem wallet address. Locate your address by clicking the “Receive” button in the wallet interface.
-
Can I send ADA from Lucem to other wallets?Yes, you can send ADA to any Cardano-compatible wallet. Lucem includes safeguards to prevent sending assets to unsupported addresses, but always double-check the recipient’s address. Cardano addresses typically start with addr1__.
-
What is network switching in Lucem?Network switching allows you to toggle between Cardano’s mainnet (production) and testing environments (preview, pre-production, and deprecated testnet). This lets you explore new features before they are deployed on the mainnet, ensuring a smoother experience.
-
Why does Lucem request access to your Chrome browsing history?Lucem uses Chrome's Tabs API to integrate with DApps via the CIP-30 standard. This ensures accurate reflection of a DApp’s name, URL, and icon within the Lucem interface. Data collection is anonymous and used to improve user experience, detect issues, and develop features.
